The authors define the value of transport systems as an effective integrator of the countries and regions in the international economy. They also consider primary goals of transport for achievement of the purposes of the international economic integration, priorities of participation of Russia in transport projects on the post-Soviet territory, and prove the necessity of participation for the international transport organizations. The purposes and problems of functioning of the international transport corridors on the Russian territory are considered in detail.
Ways of modernization of Russian economy
The author analyzes the essence of modernization, its characteristics and features; the role of using foreign technology for the realization of strategies and modernizations is covered. Special attention is given to the role of foreign technology in post-war growth of economy in foreign
countries. The author makes a conclusion about the necessity of expansion of importing licenses and technology to Russia, criticizes supporters of the theory that relies only on a country’s own forces in economic development.

The article deals with the causes of the European crisis, its features and infl uence on the world banking system. The consequences for the Russian economy, necessary measures for its deoffshorization and reducing capital flight are considered.
Reindustrialization of Russia: opportunities of technology imports
The article examines opportunities to import technologies for the reindustrialization of Russia, gives evidence that this opportunities are used poorly, identifies the main obstacles to more effective use of foreign technology in the domestic economy, sets out the considerations
relating to incentives for imports of capital equipment and technology. The main conclusion of the study: reindustrialization of Russia can be successful only if it is a part of the industrial policy and if a State is at the head of this process.

Multilateral organizations and forums in development of international economic relations
The article is about the enhancement of Russia’s participation in multilateral organizations and forums during the last two decades. The author analyses the benefits and costs that result from the participation, including the forthcoming joining the WTO and the OECD. The necessity to raise
the effectiveness of the participation, which would allow strengthening the country’s position in the global economy, is stressed. Although it would imply greater expenditure in foreign currency. The author expresses some ideas about the methods of increasing the effectiveness of the participationand proposes to insert the special section - «Optimization of Russian membership in multilateral organizations and forums» into national programs of the development of international economic relations.
Trends and methods of international competition at the beginning of the XXI century: geo-economic, trade and political aspects
The article deals mainly with the geoeconomic and trade policy aspects of international competition, focusing on the most recent trends and developments. Special attention is paid to changing global economic landscape, state-driven competition in innovation and regarding access to natural resources, growing export support activity, as well as increasing the importance of preferential trade agreements and “families” of such agreements in shaping global competitive framework. Account is also taken of new competitive pressures arising from financial markets.
Development of Globalization Process and the WTO Activity
In the article modern globalization processes in economy and international trade, their influence on WTO activities, and the agenda of multilateral trade negotiations are considered. Special attention is paid to the change in the balance of power in the world economy and trade, development of international supply chains and participation of developing countries in them, as well as to topical subjects of multilateral trade negotiations and the expected agenda of the 9th WTO Ministerial conference in Bali.
What Does Russia’s Membership in the WTO Promise and What Does Not Affect?
The article speaks about the advantages received by Russia as a result of its joining the WTO. It refutes the viewpoint that the membership in the WTO will become a serious obstacle in the way of the structural reconstruction of the economics of Russia and the realization of industrial
politics. The article states that the task of state structures and domestic business is to master main points of the legal documents of the WTO and to learn how to acteff ectively and correctly within the boundaries of the regulations fixed by them.
Simplification of Procedures in International Trade – Promising Direction in Trade Negotiations within the WTO in 2012: Interest of Russia
The author considers the results of the eighth Conference of the WTO Ministers (December, 2011), and the results of the discussion of possible ways of continuing negotiations under the WTO Trade Negotiations Committee. The article also focuses on basic provisions of the Draft agreement on measures on trade procedures facilitation. Some conclusions on Russia’s membership in the WTO were provided.
Possible Consequences of Russia’s Accession to the WTO
Joining the WTO will bring with itself competitive stimulus in which the Russian economy is in great need. It meets requirements of national manufacturers, aspiring to expand their operations in the world market, and contradicts interests of those companies which are not aimed at gaining the markets of other countries, and, on the contrary, demand from the government to protect them from foreign competition. It is possible to agree that the influence of the accession to WTO will have a postponed effect on the national economy. Nevertheless, it will be, most likely, rather
notable and will stimulate the modernization of the Russian economy and will become a positive factor of its strategic development.
